Adilhah, I think we need to let me them in on the GM thing .GM = Goosebump Moments…a term coined my our very own Fatimah Popel (aka Ms. Google-this requires another entry). On our way back to Cairo from Alexenderia at about 1 am in the morning, we deciced to play a sharing game. Each sister shared a hadith, aya(at), sahabi(a) or prophet story that had a great impact on thier understanding of Islam. The personal stories were so touching that after every one of those reflections we got goosebumps.

One sister shared aya 286 from surat al-bakara: “On no soul does Allah place a burden greater than it can bear.” Helped her get through some hard times in her life. Another sister shared aya 186 from surat al bakara: “When My servents ask you concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them). I listen to the prayer of every supplicant when he calls on me….” This one helped her remember that Allah is near to us, all we have to do our part and call on him.

The GMs were a good way to end our weekend trip.
