How To Blog

Here is some information to help you get started as an author on this blog. All the SAP participants and the coordinators should be registered as authors who will write posts (different from comments) on this blog throughout their time in Egypt.

In order to be added as an author, you must first visit http://wordpress.com/signup/ and create a WP account. Once you do that, you should send the email address you used to sign up to the blog administrator (akhafagi@gmail.com). You will then receive an email from the administrator informing you that you have been added as an author to the MYSAP blog.

Once you have been registered, you can begin contributing to the blog:

1. Go to www.wordpress.com and login at the right hand side.

2. Click on “My Dashboard” on the top of the page, and you will be redirected to the administrative section of the blog.

3. To write a post, click on “write” at the top. You will be directed to the posting page, where you can enter a title for your post, and proceed to write the body of it.

4. You can add photos using the function right below the text box. Click on “browse”, find your photo, and then click upload. When the photo appears, click “send to editor” and it will magically appear in the body of the text. You can move it around the text if you want.

5. When you are finished writing, review your post for spelling mistakes and clarity. If you want to see how the post looks on the blog before publishing it, click on “preview” at the top right hand corner of the text box.

6. Before you publish, click on the category(s) that you would like your post to fall under. If you do not find an appropriate one, create a new one by typing it in the box and clicking “add”.

7. Add your name at the bottom of the post, and click publish! Or if you would rather come back to finish a post, click “save” and you can edit it later by clicking on “manage” on the dashboard.

You are encouraged to leave comments on other authors’ posts, and keep checking your post to see if any comments need a response.

You can also edit your user profile by clicking on “Users” –> “your profile” and add your picture and/or other information.
